It’s hard to tell people about yourself in 500 words or less. (my self imposed limit)
As I look back over my life I can almost divide it in half. There is BR and AR. Before Robin and after Robin. Robin is my wife.
We’ve been married just a little over half my life, and as I look back it’s been almost like two distinct life times.
My life before Robin involved my life as an Air Force brat. About every two years we would pack up and move to a new place – Arkansas, Okinawa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and finally back to Arkansas.
This created the love I have for travel I’m sure.
In my high school years I was active in the church choir and school band. This lead me to pursue a music degree at the University of Arkansas. Nothing else compares to being a Razorback Hog fan.
My love of music lead me to Robin, and we followed that love for the next 15 years performing music around the country and even getting the opportunity to perform in Germany and Japan.
Another love we share is photography. (Visit my Flickr page) When our son Bobby was a baby, we had our own dark room and would spend hours developing and printing photos of our little baby boy. Needless to say all the family has some pretty cool, one of a kind pictures of the boy.
It was easy to make the transition from photography to video and one of my greatest joys was being the high school basketball team’s videographer when my son played. I’ll never forget taping his one and only dunk during his high school career. Yes, the family has some pretty elaborate family videos if I do say so myself. If you want to see some of my less entertaining videos you can check out My YouTube Site.
So for the first 15 years of AR (after Robin) we made our own schedules, called the shots so to speak, and worked for ourselves. That changed when we moved to a more rural setting and the opportunities to entertain diminished. In hind site I think we were just a little tired.
So for the past 10 years I shifted gears and took on a traditional job, or should I say jobs. I’m not the best employee…lol. I’m opinionated, can be a little stubborn, like to think outside the box, and being the artsy type, don’t really like structure all that well. Sound familiar?
Over time I’ve become more and more restless and seek the freedom of setting my own hours, deciding when and where I want to be, and continue to follow the dream of having a positive impact on the life of myself and others.
So if I’m breaking my life up into quarters (I’m 52), then it’s time to start writing the next chapter – “The Next 25 Years”.
We’ll call this one WR…with Robin..let’s get started.
